About the video:

In this video, I'm going to tell you how I manage to keep my hair looking healthy and easy to style.

I'm filming from my favourite hair salon in Cape Town, Maverick Hair.

As we get older, our hair tends to loose a lot of it's natural colour, it gets dry and sometimes even changes texture.

Here are my two top tips to keeping your hair healthy, not matter your age:

1. Go for a regular trim at a salon. This keeps your hair looking good,

2. Go for regular Mycro Keratin Treatments. I have these every 3 months to keep my hair looking good. It's great for women who have over coloured or over styled their hair or struggle with frizzy hair of hair that is difficult to style. The Mycro Keratin Treatment even helps your colour look good.

Make sure to use good hair care products after the treatment. Shampoos that have foaming agent, sodium laureth sulfate, will strip the treatment from your hair. I like the Mycro Keratin shampoo, conditioner and mask. I use the mask every second was as it keeps my treatment working for longer.

About the video:

I love dresses. They are so easy to just through on, they can be dressed up or down and they are easy to travel with. But this is only the case if you have the perfect dress for your shape. In this video, I’m going to give you tips to finding your perfect dress.

Dress styles and fits change with the seasons and fashion trends, but here are some tips to some classic styles to look out for.

1. Look out for a dress that fits in the waist and flares at the hem. This is a universally flattering shape. My favourite style is the wrap dress… but make sure it has enough wrap to give you flair in the hem.

2. If your favourite dress is shapeless, belt it. This only works though if the hem is flared and in soft fabric. If not, it may create more volume than you want.

3. Print or plain? If the fabric is firm and doesn't cling, then a plain colour is perfect. If the fabric is soft and clingy, then print works best. Print also works to disguise the bits you aren't so crazy about and it shows no panty lines.

4. Determine your best length. This is important as it can either make or break the dress.

If you like your legs …. And yes you can show your knees if you are over 40.. wear your dress just above your knee or a little higher depending on your height. Generally shorter women look better in slightly shorter lengths.

If you are not crazy about your knees then wear the length just below the knee.

If you really don’t like your legs, either wear tights and long boots or go for full length dresses. And I mean full length. Asymmetrical hems cheat.

About the video:

Why are mature fashion icons important? I want to see women older than myself and or my own age, doing it and looking good. It inspires me to see women not giving up on themselves just because they are getting older.

We are often bombarded with media images focusing on being young to be beautiful. Well the fashion industry is changing. They are finally starting to listen to us, that as women over 40 are not ready to give up on fashion. We want to see images of women who are doing it with style.

My top 3 fashion icons:

Iris Apfel is in her 90's. She creates these incredible Iris Outfits and looks fantastic. She believes that dressing should be fun.

Linda Rodin has a sassy, yet feminine look. She wears little makeup except her bold lipstick and wears her signature glasses or sunglasses. She is not an advocate of plastic surgery.

Stella McCartney is a similar age to me and she looks great. As a designer, she focuses on making clothing that women love to wear and feel comfortable in. She is an advocate for anti animal cruelty.

Over 40's style: how to buy the perfect pair of jeans

Skinny, bootleg, wide leg, mid rise, high rise….what does it all mean????? And which pair of jeans are your perfect pair for your body shape??? In this video I am going to give you the low down on which cut best suits your shape and how to shop for them without the trauma.

Are there rules about which jeans women over 40 should wear? Absolutely not. I have seen women all good in various cuts AND a lot depends on how you feel about your body shape and your personal style.

When shopping for your perfect pair:

1. Be prepared to try on various styles and sizes. If you plan ahead, wear clothing and shoes that are easy to remove. This makes it less of a work out…. although… if you can burn calories while shopping… why not?

If you know which cut suits you, take a few variations and different sizes and washes.. which brings me to my second point.

2. Know your size, but don’t be married to it. The stiffness, thickness and stretch of the fabric is going to vary. So don’t worry about it if you have to go up a size.

3. Know what’s worth the spend. I do believe that investing in a good pair of jeans is worth it, but if you find your perfect fit at a low price point, that’s great. Fit is key, but so is fabric. Often paying a bit more, means better fabric. They tend to last and keep their shape for longer. That being said, be careful of investing in a high fashion pair. Yes, over 40 can wear ripped jeans, but are they worth investing in…. probably not.

Jean Styles

You can wear anything you like, this is just a guideline

There are variations of these styles.

Skinny – if you love your legs, this is a great shape for you.

Difference between super tight and skinny. If it covers your shoe, more elongating.

If you have short legs, to elongate your legs, wear a mid or high rise.

To make this look work: Avoid wearing super baggy tops. Rather wear tops that give you shape to keep your look balanced.

Bootleg/Flair – if you want to give your gorgeous hips or thighs balance without adding volume or you want to create curves that you don’t have….this style will work for you.

If you want to elongate your legs, wear these will a heel. The great thing about bootleg is you can’t see how high your heels is.

Wide leg – if you want to give your gorgeous curves balance or you want skim over your hips and thighs, this is a great cut for you.

Make sure to wear fitted, shorter tops with this style or it will make you look bigger than you are. With volume on the bottom, you really need fitted on the top. If you just love this style because it’s fashionable and you have a flattish tummy, tuck in your top for an elongated look.

How the jeans look depends on how you wear them and what you wear them with.

I'm back from my European shopping trips in Milan, Barcelona and Madrid. I had an amazing time and I shopped up a storm. I thought I would share with you the 3 top tips that I use when I go shopping to ensure that I come home with things that I really love and I haven't completely broken the bank.

Tip 1: Set a budget. This helps you to be less overwhelmed. When I arrive in a new city, I tend to get really excited on all there is to buy and see. When I set a budget, it ensures that I carefully curate the items I purchase rather than just spending spontaneously.

Tip 2: Make a shopping list. This means you need to look in your closet to see what you already have. That ensures that you don't buy more of the same. Making a shopping list also narrows your focus and your brain will start looking for items that are on your list.

Tip 3: Familiarise yourself with the size charts, especially if you are going to a foreign country. This is useful when you are rummaging through outlet stores where there aren't of sizes available in a style. This also helps if you don't speak the language. However, don't get worked up about the sizes. Especially in Italy. The people are small, so their sizes are small. Don't worry if you have to go up a size or two.

Madrid is not usually a shopping destination, but what I did find is that it has an abundance of cost effective options for high fashion items. It is also the Mecca of shoes. So if you love shoes, then Madrid is a wonderful place for you.

I found these beautiful Gloria Ortiz gold boots at El Corte' Ingles. They are quite unique and because they are gold, they go with everything.

Tip: I did find that Spanish shoes are a little bigger and wider. When shopping for shoes there, you may need to go up a size to find your perfect fit.

I was on the look out for red boots, but I couldn't find them. I happened to pass by a charity shop and found this pair for €4. How's that for a bargain.

Tip: If you find something in a charity shop for a good price, but it's not what you want or would ordinarily buy, rather spend that money on a glass of wine or tappas down the street. Don't waste your money, even if you think it's a good buy.

Madrid is really big on their high street brands. Zara, Mango, Desigual, Woman' Secret etc. They are all from Spain. Even if you think you know these stores, when you go to Madrid, pop in to see what they have. They often stock items you may not find in your home town.

I found these divine ruffle trousers at Zara. They may not be suitable for everyday wear, but it's a great alternative to the little black dress for the evening.

Hand painted leather jacket is from Coll-ars https://www.facebook.com/CollaRsComplementos/

Earrings are from Carme Anglada http://www.carmeanglada.com/index.php?ident=3

I loved my shopping trip Barcelona. What I really enjoyed was that I found some unique things that I haven't seen elsewhere and I didn't break the bank.

I love Desigual. If you are going to Barcelona, then you must go to the flagship store in Placa de Catalunya. You can see the footage that I filmed in their store in my video blog here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZxrerTcAqQ

They have a signature style that you either love or don't. I particularly love their denim jackets and they bring out different ones each year.

Tip: When you are wearing a statement jacket like this Desigual one, then keep the rest of your look fairly simple. That way you wear the clothes, the clothes don't wear you.

I was on the lookout for a beautiful one piece swimsuit. It's never an easy thing to find the perfect swimsuit.

Tip: When going shopping for a swimsuit, try not to wear too many clothes as you are going to have to try on quite a few till you find your perfect one.

Tip: Each store has a certain cut, so try various stores till you find a good cut for your shape, then try a few variations at that store.

The one that worked for me was Woman' Secret. Their price points are affordable and their suits are fabulous. They have great bikini styles too. You can see more about Women' Secret in my video blog here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oujg8wZbT4I

This jacket was the highlight of my shopping trip. It comes from Coll-ars. It's hand painted and a one of kind. You can see the full story in my video blog here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAUVuJw6qO0

Tip: When you see a statement piece you really love, make sure you can wear it with a lot of other items in your existing wardrobe to make it worth the spend.

There is beautiful jewellery in Barcelona at every price point. I bought these earrings which are lightweight and dynamic.

I was looking for a stylish smartwatch. Thank you Fossil for bringing out a beautiful range. I chose the Fossil Q Hybrid Smartwatch. It works with an app on your cell phone which includes a fitness tracker, but it still looks like a watch. The rose gold face suits my skin tone and the nude strap means that it goes with everything. The strap does change colour, so if that bothers you then rather go for a darker strap. You can buy them separately.

I found Dmagazine Outlet store. That is where I found this designer leather jacket. The original price was €780 and I paid €129. The jacket has quite a bit of detail which means that it won't go with everything in my wardrobe. Tip: Before you invest in a statement jacket, make sure it will go with a lot in your wardrobe to warrant the spend.

I wanted a beautiful pair of sunglasses. I found this fabulous pair at Nau! They are Italian designed and made and their range sells at reasonable prices. My pair was top of the range at €89. Tip: If you are going to invest in one pair of sunglasses, make sure that it goes with everything. This pair works well with my hair colour, so it goes with everything.

I was looking for a small handbag for my evenings out. I found this gorgeous one at GA Accessory. They are Italian designed and made. They sell a range of bags in various sizes.

Did you know that Calvin Klein jeans are made from Italian made fabric? These high rise jeans are so comfortable and the fabric moulds to my body.

I found this red leather coat at the Navigili vintage market. It is bold, but since I wear lots of red, it makes it a good piece for me. Tip. When selecting a bold colour, print or textured coat, ensure you have plenty of items in your existing wardrobe that you can wear it with.

Ola from Madrid. I am here for a few days and I am going to discover and share with you, the best places to shop in this vibrant city.

I am in Gran Via. This is the main high street shopping strip in Madrid. It has the most amazing options as far as affordable fashion is concerned.

Even if you think you know Zara, Mango, Desigual etc, because you shop them in your own city, when you come to a different city, it's worth a pop in. What I find is that even the chain stores will vary according to the city. They take on the vibe of the city and it's people, so you may find some unique and interesting thing.

Also something to note is that quite a few of the high street brands that we know and love like Zara, Mango, Desigual, Woman'Secret are from Spain. Here you may find some amazing things you might not find at the stores in your own city.

Just off Gran Via is the Desigual flag ship store. This store is a real treat as even the decor fits in well with the Desigual styling. Once again, even if you have been to a Desigual before, you need to come and take a look at the one in Madrid. It even has an outlet floor filled with things on sale.

One thing I've discovered about Madrid is that there is an abundance of affordable options together with some unique Spanish designers.

If you would like learn to define and refine your personal style, meet me here in Madrid for your very own makeover. Click this link for more http://tracygold.co.za/new-folder/makeovers-in-spain

On day 4 of my shopping trip in Barcelona, I take you to the designer strip in Passeig de Gracia.

This street leads off from Placa de Catalunya, so it's really easy to find. You will find top designer brands like Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Longcamp etc.

In the same street, scattered amongst the designer brands, you will find some fabulous high street brands that offer high fashion clothing at reasonable prices. A great example of this is the Spanish brand Stradivarius. They had some fabulous things in their store for Spring.

There is also Bulevard Rosa Shopping Centre. It's a small centre, but it has some very interesting stores. It's here that I found The Outlet store. They have a few designer brands at knock down prices. There were also some lovely shoe stores ranging from €129 - €200.

A shopping trip to Barcelona is not complete without a visit to Desigual. Especially this store as it's the flagship. It has 3 floors filled with clothing for ladies, men and children. The staff are also amazing. They make it a pleasurable shopping experience.

When you come to Placa de Catalunya, you have to stop off at this massive Zara. I found some things that I haven't seen at other Zaras around the world because the Spanish are not afraid of bold colour, styling and print. Zara originally comes from Spain, so this is it's home town.

Here is this massive department store, El Corte Ingles. It has several floors offering various brands and various price points.

Where to shop in Barcelona day 3

For day 3 of my shopping trip in Barcelona, I go to the El Born district.  It's here that I found this divine hand painted leather jacket.  Take a look at this video to see the story behind it.

For day 3 of my shopping trip in Barcelona, I go to the El Born district. This district is a little more edgy and I'm hoping to find some unusual stores here.

I'm standing outside Carma Anglada, one of the many beautiful jewellery stores in this district. Most of the jewellery is made by Spanish designers, so you will find some beautiful and unique pieces. I bought these earrings made of aluminium for only €29. You also get some more specialist stores like Zigna Design where prices vary from €165 - €265.

Coll-ars is a gem of a store. It's here that I found a handpainted leather jacket. The store is owned by a Spanish mother and daughter team and the daughter is an artist. She paints words on the jackets in Italian using words such as freedom, patience, love etc. The artist believes that as a woman wears the jackets, they take on those words. They also have handmade scarves and handbags.

Ola from Barcelona. I am here for a few days on a shopping trip. I'm going to discover and tell you the most amazing places to shop at every budget.

La Rambla is a massive, busy street that runs through the city of Barcelona. Since it's so loud and so busy, I prefer to go to the side streets to shop.

On La Rambla in the Gothic Quarter is Custo from Barcelona. The designer has an interesting use of colour, fabric and print. His styles are funky, but in a classic sort of way. He is a mid price range designer. Pieces cost in the region of €145.

If you love beautiful sleepwear, swimwear and underwear, then Woman's Secret is the shop for you. Prices are reasonable and fits are amazing.

Off La Rambla is Portal del Angel which is the high street of Barcelona. This is where you will find H&M, Mango, Zara etc. There are lots of cost effective places to shop in Barcelona.

I am in the Navigili district for day 4 of my shopping trip in Milan. For vintage lovers, this is heaven.

It's the last Sunday of the month, which means that the vintage market is on in Navigili. This market is amazing. There are hundreds of stalls offering all things vintage including clothing, designer handbags, books, cds, furniture etc.

The price points vary so there is shopping for every budget.

If you can't make it to the market, come down to Navigili during the week rather than on a Saturday. I arrived on Saturday and there were only a few stores open due to the May day weekend. Then those that were open close for lunch during 12:30 - 15:00.

I'm in Piazza Duomo for day 3 of my shopping trip in Milan. There are so many places to see. Come along with me as I show you places to shop at every budget.

If you are walking from Corso Buenos Aires, when you get to the top, there is a fort. Continue onto Corso Venezia. This will take you all the way up to Piazza Duomo. There are also stores along this street, so walking is best.

If you love designer brands and you don't have much time, laRinascente is the perfect place for you. It has 11 floors full of designer brands ranging from Stella McCartney, DVF, Gucci, Pucci and more. There is also a floor for cosmetics and perfume.

Further down the road is a hip happening store JDC. Don't be afraid to go in if high fashion isn't your thing as you may be surprised what you may find. For example, these flatforms are €60 as appose to the Stella McCartney flatforms for €600.

On a street off Piazza Duomo called Via Alessandro Monzoni, there is a store DMAG Outlet. They have an amazing selection of designer brands and knock down prices ranging from €750 - €250. That being said, I got this beautiful Decute leather jacket fro €129. Make sure you have time as there is a lot to see and it may take you time to find something you like.

For day 2 of my shopping trip in Milan, I show you where to shop in the Brere District.

The best way to get to the main part of Brere is by train. Take the Garibaldi station.

From there you can walk into Corso Como where the famous concept store, 10 Corso Como, resides. They sell high price items at about €1000 per item.

There are also some interesting stores in this square. For example, Roberto sells cashmere scarves at a reasonable price.

Follow via Garibaldi into the quiter part of town. Here you will find some vintage and interesting stores offering Italian designed and made clothing, jewellery and accessories. For example, Gum handbags and Vitti Ferria Contin jewelery store.

I found a market in Via San Marco that is open on Thursdays and Sundays. It has fresh local produce, designer brands for lower prices, vintage handbags and cashmere scarves.

Olive green is a huge colour trend this year. Usually when you think olive green you think of safari or combat look, but not this year. I am going to show you some fun and interesting ways of wearing this versatile colour.

Olive green is a key colour for both fall/winter and spring/summer which makes it a worthwhile colour to buy. You won’t just see it in jeans, but also in jackets, coats, shoes, bags etc. How do you wear it and with what do you wear it? Here are some ways to make this colour work for you.

If this colour compliments your colouring, then feel free to wear it close to your face. You can even mix various shades of green together for an all out green look.

Or…

Wear it on the bottom.

In fall/winter you can add it to your neutrals to keep your look for becoming otherwise a bit dull by mixing it with basic black, but don’t be afraid to add a pop of colour too.

In spring/summer lighten it up by wearing it with a white button down or a bright colour and a neutral or nude shoe.

Ruffles are huge this season and they are fun to wear, but did you know that they can also make dressing for your body shape super easy. Check out this video to see how.

You may be thinking that you are not a fan of ruffles, but before you write them off, take a look at what they can do for your body shape.

Ruffles can add flare and balance to a skirt that will otherwise make your hips look wider.

Ruffles can add width or emphasis to your top half to balance out a bigger bottom half.

Ruffles can detract attention from your tummy in a peplum style by emphasizing your narrowest point and flaring over your tummy. This style can also make your hips look smaller in comparison to the width of the hem.

This trend is easy to wear no matter the season. In spring/summer you can wear asymmetrical ruffle tops which also emphasizes your shoulders or in fall/winter, wear ruffle detailed jerseys to keep you warm in style.

The exaggerated shoulders trend of the 80’s is back and it can work wonders for your body shape. Here is how to make this trend work for you in a modern and contemporary way.

Emphasizing or exaggerating your shoulders can be a great way of balancing out your shape, especially if you are bigger on the bottom than the top or it’s a way of showing off the shoulders that you love.

Make use of puffed sleeves, small shoulder pads, cut out or off the shoulders tops to make this magic trick work. This works to broadens your shoulders, which balances the width of your hips and bums.

Wear it in spring/summer by opting for cut out shoulder tops or anything with shoulder detail or in fall/winter layer a cut out shoulder with a lace body stocking or wear a slight puffed sleeve jacket or a jacket with a shoulder pad for extra volume.

I love the statement sleeve trend as it lends itself to femininity, but it’s also a great for ladies who want to detract attention from their upper arms or women who need to cover their arms. If you need some coverage, why not do it in style.

The basic white shirt has had a makeover this year. Instead of plain, you will see many variations of a statement sleeve. The bell sleeve is especially flattering as it balances the width of your upper arm, but is not so volumous that it makes your whole upper body look wider.

Wear it in spring or fall in a simple long sleeve or in fall/winter layer it with a bell sleeve jacket style.

If you are stuck in that skinny pants or jeans with a baggy top look then maybe it’s time for a change. Ladies, it’s time to emphasize your waist, make your legs look longer and look fabulous. Here is how to do that.

1. Replace your baggy top for something fitted. This will give your shape more balance and make your legs look model long.

2. If you wear long tops to cover your hips, bums and thighs, rather change the shape of your pants to bootleg, wideleg or even slim leg. This will work to balance out your widest point and make it much easier to wear fitted, shorter tops.

3. If you are wearing pencil skirts or dresses, try something with a bit of a flare. Ensure it fits in the waist and flares at the hem. This will balance your widest point and it’s a lot more comfortable to wear.

Choosing to wear fitted clothing rather than big baggy ones can make you look like you’ve lost 5kg in an instant.

Watch this video to see how.

Many women think baggy clothing is hiding the parts they don’t like, but in reality, it’s just drawing attention to them and making them look bigger.

1. Emphasising your waist is truly the secret to the universe of slim dressing. By emphasizing your waist, you show the natural balance between your bust/shoulders and your hips. You also make your legs look longer, as if they start at your waist rather than the end of your top or jacket.

2. If you mostly have baggy tops in your wardrobe, make use of a belt to cinch your waist or a fitted jacket. This will instantly change your look.

3. Try wearing prints. Many women are afraid of wearing fitted clothing because they think it’s going to show every lump and bump, but in a print, it wont’. Print disguises the eye. A print in a fitted blouse or dress can work like magic.

Adding colour to your wardrobe is one the easiest ways of giving yourself a makeover, but many women are afraid of colour for fear of getting it wrong. Here are some quick and easy ways to figure out what you best colours.

1. Start with a colour that is easy to wear. There are a few colours that most people can wear and look great in. Turquoise and electric blue are two examples. In fact, I have never seen someone look terrible in these colours, no matter their complexion.

2. If you want to try a new colour that you are uncertain of, start with a colour you know works for you and compare it to the one you are trying out. Pay attention to how your under eye and cheeks look. If you look paler than usual and your under eye looks darker… then it’s not your best colour.

3. If you love a colour and want to wear it, but it’s not the best colour for you, wear it in a print or wear it with in conjunction with a colour that does suit you. If all else fails, wear it as an accessory like a handbag or shoes that you wear far away from your face.

Are tired of having aching feet from high heels. Or have you already given up on wearing heels, but you feel you just don’t get the look right?

I am going to show you a few tricks to looking fabulous in flats

If you have long slender legs and ankles, then you can get away with wearing any kind of flat. But if not…. Listen up for great tips on how to choose your perfect pair of flats.

If you have cankles, then you need to wear a flat that is as open as possible without straps running across your ankle. Straps around your ankle will make them appear wider than they are. Alternatively, wear a sandal that has detail in the middle of your foot. This draws attention away from your ankle.

If you have short legs, then a pointy toe will work to create the illusion that they are longer than they are.

If you have slender ankles, then the crisscross pointy toe flat will work well for you and they are bang on trend. In fact, if your ankles are thinner proportionately to your calves, wearing a thicker strap across your ankles will work to bulk them up a little and make them look more in proportion.

The nude flat shoe works like magic. It can elongate your leg, making it look like an extension of your foot, it can also work for ladies who have cankles and remember that a nude strap cheats for cankles too as the strap is less obvious than a colour strap.

Now lets chat about the lengths you need to wear with flats.

Avoid wearing ¾ lengths as this will shorten your look.

Rather wear your skirts, dresses and shorts a little shorter than usual. If you don’t want to show your knees, wear your length just below your knee. That way you show enough leg to make it worth it and you don’t cut across the widest point of your calf.

When you pack for a business trip, do you tend to just through a few things in and hope for the best or pack half your wardrobe…..just in case?

In this video, I will show you how to pack light and save you time.

It’s important to have all the things you need to create a look that makes you look good and feel confident.

1. What are you going to be doing on your trip. i.e. giving a presentation, working one-on-one with clients, will you be on your feet a lot or are you likely to be seated.

2. Choose one good basic colour. This narrows down your focus and makes it easier to pack. For example, you can select black, brown, navy etc. Decide on a jacket and shoes that match in colour. Make sure whatever you choose to pack, goes with your jacket and your shoes. Pack one extra pair of shoes… just in case.

3. Select mix and match options. This will give you loads of wear without having to take some many things with you.

5 Tips to dressing with Italian style

Having spent some time in Italy, I was inspired by their amazing sense of style. They are known for dressing well and doing so with such confidence.

Here are my top tips to dressing with Italian style… yourself.

1. The Italians are stylishly understated. The look is simple, but well put together.

You can create this look by choosing one statement piece that has the wow factor and then keeping the rest of your outfit fairly simple. For example, wear a decorative jacket and pair it with jeans and boots or wear a bold colour scarf with an otherwise neutral outfit.

2. The Italians place more importance on personal style rather than the latest trends. Don’t get me wrong, they are aware of the latest trends, they are just not slaves to them. Above all, Italians wear what suits them.

You can create this look by choosing a few key fashionable pieces that will update your existing wardrobe and reflect your personal style. For example, this red leather biker jacket that I bought in Milan is a trendy piece, but it works so well with my existing wardrobe and personal style.

3. Italian women know how to create a sensual look without showing too much skin. You won’t see many super wearing super short, tight skirts or plunging necklines revealing cleavage.

You can create this look yourself by showing skin selectively. Either show a bit of leg and keep the neckline covered or show a bit of neckline and keep your legs covered.

4. The Italians understand that fitted clothing works better for their body shapes, than baggy clothing.

Be prepared in invest in key pieces that fit you well and suit your shape, but that doesn’t have to mean paying big money for designer brands. You could find you your perfect fit on high street or in vintage stores. Either way, learn what suits your shape and only buy what really works for you.

5. Wear stylish flats

Italian women walk a lot, especially in the big cities. There is no time for hobbling around in stilettos. This means they need to be comfortable, but they never forget style.

Wearing flats doesn’t have to mean looking dowdy. It all depends on the style of flat shoes you wear, what you wear with them and that you wear them with confidence.

Packing light for a winter holiday can be a challenge, but it’s still doable. In this video, I am going to show you how.

Winter holidays can be great fun, but you do want to be prepared so you don’t end up spending all your time indoors.

1. Wear your bulkiest layers on route, a leather jacket, jeans and long boots, but make sure you are comfortable to travel.

2. Buy a coat at your destination. That will save you from carrying it with you or taking up lots of room in your suitcase. Cold weather countries are prepared for their weather and chances are, you will be able to pick up a stylish coat at an affordable price.

3. Pack several thin layers. You will probably be moving between indoor heated environments to freezy temperatures outdoors. Make use of thin layers to keep you comfortable indoors and then add your thick winter coat for outdoors.

4. One good pair of boots that will go with everything. Boots take up a lot of room in a suitcase, so it’s best to choose one you can wear with everything you have packed.

5. Don’t forget the scarf, hat and gloves…brrr… you are going to need it. Once again, you can pick these up at your destination to save space.

With the holidays drawing near, you may be planning to go away on a summer holiday. Fabulous, but now what are you going to pack and ensure that you have all you need without having a huge, bulging suitcase.

Here are some great tips to packing light AND having plenty to wear.

Packing light is all about knowing WHAT to pack instead of HOW to pack.

1. What are you going to be doing on your holiday? Are you planning on lazing on the beach with a book or are you an action girl who prefers to go for hikes and watersport or are you going to a tourist destination where you will be walking a lot and checking out the sites?

2. Check the weather, but prepare for variances. Use the weather report as a guide, but make sure you have something for a little extra warmth if needed.

3. What do you really love to wear? You want to be comfortable and feel fabulous on your holiday.

4. Select a few mix and match pieces to give you more wear.

Make a list of the items you think you will need. Here is an example:

• summer dress or two

• swim suit

• swim suit cover-up that can double up as a dress or a top

• pair of shorts

• light weight jacket – choose something that will go with everything

• pair of comfy jeans – you can wear to travel in

• a few tops to go with my shorts and jeans

• glitzy top you can wear in the evening with pants or jeans

• 2 pairs of shoes that will go with everything

Learning to pack light is a skill worth learning. It can save you time, suitcase space and still ensure you have all you need.

In this video, I’m going to give you some quick and easy steps to packing light no matter the destination.

Packing light is about having a strategy, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are 4 super quick and easy tips.

1. I like to lay everything out on my bed. This way I can make sure that they mix and match and that the outfits work really well. I can also see what I need, like what kind of underwear do I need, what tights do I need, does it go with my shoes etc. There is nothing worse that you getting to your destination, you have this fabulous top to wear, but you don’t have the right bra.

2. Pack wash and wear items that can easily be washed out in the sink. I take a little container of washing powder with me, so I wash and hang in the shower.

3. Decant your cosmetics into smaller containers. I keep these containers in my travel cosmetic bag so I don’t have to refill every time I go on a trip. To prevent a bulging cosmetics bag, simplify your beauty and makeup routine by only taking what you really need. Making use of 2-in-one products will also keep your packing to a minimum.

4. Take a handbag that goes with everything. Make sure that it is big enough to take your essentials, but not so clunky that it’s going to be a hassle to carry around.

How to be body confident part 4: work the trends

Do you find yourself wearing trends that don’t suit your shape just because they are fashionable or do you allow fashion to inspire you to create your own look that suits you?

In this video I am going to tell you how to use fashion as a tool to make you feel more body confident.

In this video I am going to tell you how to use fashion as a tool to make you feel more body confident.

Wearing styles that don’t suit you makes it harder to love the body you have. Not everyone is going to look good in the same thing because we are all different.

1. Choose the trends that work for you. There are so many trends to choose from these days, that we don’t all have to wear the same thing. If skinny jeans don’t suit you, go for bootleg, slim leg or wide-leg options.

2. Create and embrace your own personal style. This is the biggest trend of all. This helps you to celebrate your individuality and make you feel fabulous.

So the next time you try something that doesn’t work for you, simply move on and find something that does.

Listen, these days we are bombarded by images of ‘picture perfect women’ and even though we know it’s not real, somehow we still buy into it. And then you also may find yourself comparing yourself to that women in the street or that friend and feel less than….sound familiar?

I have consulted with thousands of women and let me tell you, that all women have their things. In fact, often the ones you think are ‘so perfect’, also aren’t happy with how they look. And then I’ve worked with women who know they aren’t ‘perfect’, but they ooze sensuality and confidence. What is the difference? The way we think about the way we look is so much more important than how we actually look.

I have seen women transform their relationships with their bodies when they see themselves in clothing that really suits them. This helps them to focus on the parts that they love and less on the ones they don’t.

1. Wear shapely clothing rather than baggy clothing

2. Emphasize your waist

3. Wear fit and flare dresses and skirts

How to be body confident part 1: name and claim

Quickly, name 3 things you like about your body shape and your hands, feet and face don’t count... can you do it? In this video I am going to give you tips on how to name and claim the things about your shape that you love.

Quickly, name 3 things you like about your body shape and your hands, feet and face don’t count.

In this video I am going to give you tips on how to name and claim the things about your shape that you love.

If I were to ask you to name the things you don’t like about your body, would that be hard? Most times, we can write an essay within seconds on all the things we don’t like. Why is this?

As women, we tend to focus all our attention on the parts we don’t like rather than the ones we do.

I love the section in Marie Claire magazine that asks women to name things they like. This is powerful. Why? Because it gets us to think differently about ourselves. We tend to be shy or ashamed to claim the things we like.

I say… no more. Decide today to name at least 1 thing you love about your body…. it could be that you have a fabulous butt… or you love your cleavage… or you have strong, beautifully shaped legs…a shapely waist… whatever it is.

Find it and claim it and celebrate it.

Trendy looks for mature women

You fear looking like mutton dressed like lamb, but you don’t want to look frumpy, but what is the in between?  In this video I show you how to create a look that is trendy and age appropriate.

Iris Apfel is my idol, but not everyone is as bold as she is.

1.Build your basic wardrobe with classics that fit well and and give you shape. That being said, classic doesn’t have to mean boring in style or colour.

2.Choose the trends that suit your personal style. Then add elements of these trends to your classic wardrobe. You can also do this with accessories.

3. Avoid wearing too much black, especially close to your face. As you get older, you loose colour in your skin and hair. Wearing colour, especially close to your face can highlight your complexion and make you look younger. If you wear black, add a colourful accessory to off-set the black and bring colour to your face.

Many women have a casual lifestyle, but they also want to look good. Here is how to create a casual chic look.

A well thought out wardrobe will make it super easy to just through something on and look fab.

These days, women want to be comfortable. This means that designers have had to come up with fabric and styles that offer us comfort AND style. Stretch fabrics do just that, which means that you can wear fitted clothing that suits your shape and be able to move freely.

Here are a few casual chic must have items:

• great pair of jeans

• stylish pair of flats: dressy sneakers or pointy toe flats

• denim or leather jacket

• dress you can dress up or down

• comfortable, stylish tops

Here are just a few outfits you can put together using these key items.

Need to go from a business meeting to the school grounds? For many women, this is a usual day, so here are some tips on how transition your look in 3 easy steps.

1. Start with a work wardrobe that is easy to transition. It needs to be easy to dress up and down and offer you comfort and style no matter what role you are playing.

2. Always have a stylish pair of flats handy if that’s not what you wear on a day to day basis.

3. A jacket can dress up or dress down your look in an instant, depending on the style.

There are two items that will transition these 3 work outfits to more comfortable, casual versions in 1min flat. Would you believe that a jacket and a pair of stylish flats will accomplish that? Let’s take a look.

Keep on the jeans and top, add a pair of heels and jewellery
