One of my favourite ways of layering for transitional seasons is mixing textures. This way you can get a lot more wear out of your seasonal pieces and your wardrobe as a whole.
In this video I am going to show you how to layer different textures for stylish transitional dressing.
Think mixing leather with lace, chiffon with wool, rough with smooth. This will give your look interest and keep you looking good no matter the weather.
For example: Wear a chiffon tunic or dress with a pair of leggings or tights and boots. In most cases women wear these styles loose, but it can make you look shapeless and bigger than you are.
To add texture, warmth and waist definition to this look, add a leather belt in the waist and or a nipped in the waist leather jacket. If you don’t want to wear a belt, simply button the middle button of the jacket and this will do the trick. In this case I’m wearing a vintage leather jacket, which adds further interest to this look.
To break the black, and add further texture, put on a pair of tan suede tassel ankle boots for a trendy look.
This is just one example of how mix different textures. Now it’s your turn to get stuck into your wardrobe and see what you can come up with.
