Do you avoid wearing skirts because they never seem to look quite right? In this video, I will show you two of the most flattering and easy to wear skirt styles.
The a-line and fish tail skirts are by far my favourite. They are classic and suit most body shapes. They come in many variations and you do have to try them on to see which cut works best for your shape.
1. The A-line skirt: This style is perfect for ladies who want to de-emphasise their hips and bum, but you need to get the fit right. For a flattering fit, it needs to fit well in the waist and hip and flair beyond your widest point. If you choose a more dramatic a-line skirt, make sure it fits in the waistband and wear shorter or tucked in tops so not keep from adding extra volume – show a pic as an example.
2. The fishtail skirt. This skirt fits in the waist and hips, narrows and flairs at the hem. This works especially well for ladies who have slim hips and legs and want to show that off. See the difference the flair makes? Without the flair, it will make your widest point look wider or you will look shapeless.
When it comes to length, it’s best to wear skirts either above the knee (if you like your knees) or just on or below it. If you want to wear a full-length skirt, it needs to be FULL LENGTH, touching your shoe. Anything in between will make your legs look shorter and your hips look wider.
In both cases, you need to wear shorter, fitted tops with you skirts. Baggy long tops just won’t work. If the skirt hits you right on the widest part of your tummy, you can wear a top just below that point for coverage.
If you have a flattish tummy and you have tops that lack shape or are too long, simply tuck them in.
